Chesapeake Large-Scale Analytics Conference (October 13-15): Annapolis, Maryland

  • Data Vortex Technologies, for the second consecutive year, co-sponsored the exclusive Chesapeake Large-Scale Analytics Conference in Annapolis, Maryland. The conference, organized by the Association for High Speed Computing, brought together experts from industry, academia, and government institutions to discuss current and future challenges facing big data analytics. HPC User Forum (September 8-10): Broomfield, Colorado

  • Established in 1999, the HPC User Forum was established to promote the global high performance computing industry and address pertinent application issues to users. This is the second of two domestic events the organization ran this year

  • Representatives from Data Vortex attended their second ISC in Germany and held private talks with Global HPC leaders. Legacy of RL Moore – IBL Conference (June 25-27): Austin, Texas

  • Hosted at the University of Texas at Austin’s AT&T Conference Center, the Legacy of RL Moore Conference celebrates the Inquiry Based Learning method. Data Vortex Publicly Debuts at SC14 in New Orleans

DDSC_1307ata Vortex enjoyed tremendous success in New Orleans at SC14 where industry and academia guests attended demonstrations, informative training sessions, product briefings, and parties.

One of the highlights of SC14 was the unmistakable excitement about something new and different in the HPC community– the Data Vortex Network Switch and Vortex Interface Cards (VICs) and the outstanding performance of the complete DV206 system.

Another highlight was the sheer number of industry and academia visitors that visited the Arthur Roger Gallery at the Renaissance Arts Hotel where Data Vortex artfully displayed the remarkable HPC system. Over 20 demonstrations, trainings, and briefings with HPC leaders like Dell, EMU Solutions, Micron, PGS, and Reservoir Labs were attended by over 250 guests.

On Tuesday, Plexus, the manufacturing and product realization partner of Data Vortex, generously sponsored a happy hour reception for industry gueIMG_2043sts which was enjoyable and fostered productive conversations between many key partners.And members of the academic community attended a focused demonstration and enjoyed hot fudge sundaes.

The privaDSC_1241te investor reception was held on Wednesday and was well attended by Data Vortex members who traveled from all over the country to participate in the annual meeting. Carolyn Coke Reed Devany, President of Data Vortex, delivered the State of the Company address and shared her vision for the future. Jay Boisseau, CEO of Vizias and Data Vortex HPC Strategy Consultant presented a fantastic talk on the future of Data Vortex and the opportunities and benefits of investing in the company. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the video of Coke Reed, CEO and Inventor of the Data Vortex, who explained the genesis of his elegant solution to the Hard Problems.

The main highlight of the week was the Steamboat Natchez party personally hosted by Coke Reed. DSC_1377From the heartfelt introduction of Coke by his granddaughter, Bonnie Devany, to the dancing to the Dukes of Dixieland and from the delicious Cajun menu to the talented local entertainers with tall glasses of Mint Juleps, fun was had by all.

The Data Vortex team members personally thank each and every one for joining them throughout the week to make this the most fun and most successful product launch yet. SC14 in New Orleans was a great time, and they are looking forward to SC15 in Austin—DV’s hometown. Plans for exhibiting more advanced technologies and entertaining guests in this cool town are already under way!
