Data Vortex at ISC High Performance in Frankfurt

July 8, 2016

On June 19th, Data Vortex Technologies hosted a series of events and talks at the Frankfurt Messe Marriott Hotel.  Principal Design Engineer Mike Ives  gave a presentation on the Data Vortex Network alongside Data Vortex Inventor and Chairman Coke S. Reed, PhD . These demonstrations were followed by scientific talks led by Director of Research Science, Santiago Betelu, PhD. Representatives from academia, the financial industry, Silicone Valley, Northern Europe, and the High Performance Computing press were in attendance.

The Data Vortex and members of the team additionally made headlines on social media during the conference. Carolyn Coke Reed Devany, who spoke at the Women in HPC Panel, “Addressing the Gender Gap in the Community”, with Dr. Jackie Chen of Sandia National Laboratory and Dr. Toni Collis of the University of Edinburgh, became a trending topic for her speech on the importance of diversity in the industry.

Data Vortex was a sponsor of the Women in High Performance Computing networking luncheon held on June 22nd. The relationship between Data Vortex and WHPC has two benefits: (1) as a company, we are demonstrating a commitment to improving diversity in the community, and (2) our exposure through this organization is providing opportunities to cultivate relationships with new customers, users, and partners. Taking place after Carolyn’s WHPC Panel at ISC, the luncheon brought together female professionals at varying stages of their careers to discuss important diversity trends and initiatives.
